It's been quite awhile since I've even thought of these little buggers.

Starting back in the beginning of my 7th semester at Shippensburg, I began creating a series of cartoon characters, completely inspired by the tv show Total Drama Island and it's illustration style. Both of which I LOVE but have no affiliation with or hand in creating whatsoever!

My characters however, are based on real people that I've had the privilege of working with at Camp Harmony in 2007 and 2008 and whom I consider some of my greatest friends. I have yet to finish everyone I've wanted to create from those years and I've been wanting to begin making characters from the 2009 camp season. It's been really hard finding the time to sit down and begin sketches of the new characters and to also finish the rest of the old ones. But once I find some extra time in my schedule (once it is a little more structured) I would like to finish those and begin creating some story lines based on real events that I've experienced while working at camp. In the meantime, I'm proud to introduce some of my most often favorited-by-others works that I have posted to my DeviantArt site.

In no particular order I give you....

Each of these is drawn and colored by hand on a 4"x6" index card using Staedtler pens and Bic permanent markers and then scanned as .jpeg files. A few are colored partly with Prismacolor colored pencils. Like I said, more will be added as I find time.

Face Melting Guitar Solo

How cool is Bluetooth? Honestly, I just sent a picture to my computer using the Bluetooth option and it took 2 seconds. Love it.

Anyways, the whole reason I sent the picture to my laptop was to post it here. I woke up this morning, opened my eyes and there it was! A face!

Not just a face, but one that looks like it's glaring and scowling at me through my guitar case.  My stomach kinda sank at first because it really creeped me out. I kept staring at it waiting for it to move or say something or completely disappear.

It literally looks like there is someone inside my guitar case with their face imprint coming through to the outside. The picture doesn't do it justice because it was taken with my crappy camera phone. But it doesn't just appear at this angle. It's still there from every angle I can look at it. So with no further ado, I introduce to you,

the man in the guitar case.

I sent the picture to my brother. Of course he thought it was "Sweet" and after a while of laying there in bed staring at it, realizing it wasn't going to do anything, I sorta figured it's kind of like the persona of my guitar- angry at me for never strumming it's strings.

...And it was good

Under Construction... again

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not an expert at anything.

The only kind of following I have is my shadow and my cat.

I've never done anything spectacular.

I didn't go to a big name university and I live with my parents.

But I have a lot of goals and a lot of growing to do in life and a blog to help me document my journey.

If you'd like to make the voyage with me, you are more than welcome to come along for as long as you'd like because adventures are always better with backup.

I must warn you about a few things before you make any decision to join me.

First, I may not be very entertaining at times (though I will try my best to not put you to sleep).

Second, I might whine a little bit (Hey, we can't be happy all the time) but I will always try to supply some cheese.

Third, I'm also really bad at updating things daily with other things calling to my attention and time, like shiny things and playoff hockey.

I will also, if I need to, embellish a little.

I won't lie to you but I'll be so openly honest that you'll be like 'OMG TMI'.

I'm just a quirky young lady fresh out of college living day to day trying to begin my life in the 'real world' as some kind of starving artist (and I certainly don't mean in food).

It is here that I will post my goals/hopes/dreams, my art, and things that I like to ramble on about (ie. Family, sports, music, etc).

So if you haven't left yet and are still reading and wish to continue reading about what I (a nobody with no expertise) thinks, Thank you and please take the time to say Hello and enjoy.
=)
